As the Betsafe-LKL regular season ends and the playoffs begin, the league has reached the long-anticipated conclusion of its most prestigious individual race — the crowning of the Regular Season MVP.
After an eight-month, 36-round marathon, the title of Most Valuable Player goes to Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius star Anthony Cowan, who led his team to a fourth-place finish in the standings.
The 27-year-old, 183 cm (6’0”) American guard stood out as the league’s most efficient and consistent performer. Across 33 games, Cowan averaged 16.7 points, 5.9 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and an efficiency rating of 20.2 in just 27.5 minutes per game.
Only four times during the season did Cowan fail to reach double digits in efficiency rating. His dominance on Lithuanian courts was clear from the start — he was also named MVP of the opening months (September–October), and in May, no other import player has matched his impact.
This marks the second time in the Wolves organization’s three-year history that one of its players has earned the league’s top individual honor. In 2023, Ahmad Caver claimed the same award. Interestingly, the MVP paths of both Vilnius standouts once crossed — during the 2020–21 season, the two Americans were teammates in the NBA G League with the Memphis Grizzlies’ affiliate.
Now, Anthony Cowan will look to prove he’s worthy of the MVP title by doing what his predecessor couldn’t: lead Wolves Twinsbet past CBet Jonava in a best-of-three quarterfinal series and bring the club its first-ever medals.
