Injury-Depleted Wolves Twinsbet Fall in Šiauliai

Injury-Plagued Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius (14-8) stumbled in Šiauliai, suffering a 110-89 (16:24, 28:32, 18:31, 27:23) defeat against the local side Šiauliai-Casino Admiral. The loss snapped the Wolves' three-game winning streak.

This matchup was a rescheduled fixture.

The home team’s advantage became apparent midway through the first quarter, as Shaquille Buchanan and Giedrius Staniulis sparked an 8-0 run (15:7). Šiauliai carried the same lead into the second quarter (24:16).

Lukas Uleckas and Eimantas Stankevičius then took over, pushing Šiauliai-Casino Admiral to a double-digit lead (34:21). However, the Wolves responded and prevented the gap from widening further. After an action-packed second quarter with a combined 60 points, the hosts were firmly in control at halftime, leading 56:44.

After halftime, the home team aimed to put the game out of reach, reaching a 20-point lead (70:50) within five minutes. The Wolves’ struggles continued, and as the final seconds of the third quarter ticked away, the gap widened to an overwhelming 87:59.

With no realistic chance of a comeback, the final ten minutes became a formality. Dovydas Romančenko’s three-pointer pushed "Šiauliai-Casino Admiral" to their largest lead of the game (102:70). Shortly after, head coach Žydrūnas Urbonas was ejected after receiving his second technical foul, but the outcome had already been decided.

The hosts finished the game without their head coach, as Urbonas' ejection left assistant coach Vaidas Pauliukėnas in charge for the remainder of the contest.

The Wolves travelled to Šiauliai without Matas Jogėla, Vaidas Kariniauskas, and Daniel Baslyk, while both registered centers - Marek Blaževič and Garrison Brooks - were also sidelined due to injuries.

Arnoldas Kulboka was the standout performer for the Wolves, recording 19 points, 7 rebounds, and a game-high 29 efficiency rating.
