Kulboka undergoes surgery, return delayed by at least a month

Basketball fans will have to wait a little longer for Arnoldas Kulboka's return to the court. The 208 cm forward, who missed last season due to injury and signed with Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius this summer, will be sidelined for at least another 4 to 6 weeks.

The 26-year-old sustained a knee injury in September of last year. Although he has been training with Wolves Twinsbet since the start of the pre-season, following an individual rehabilitation and fitness plan, persistent discomfort in his injured knee has delayed his return to full team practices.

After further examination, it was decided that arthroscopic knee surgery was necessary. His recovery is expected to take at least one month.

"Arnoldas has put in a lot of work during his rehabilitation since the pre-season, and we’ve seen clear progress both in his physio training and basketball skills on the court. However, he’s been dealing with constant knee pain while performing specific movements, which has hindered his training process. We explored different solutions, but none were effective. After additional extensive evaluation, it became clear that surgery was the only option. We’re hopeful that this will resolve the issue and allow Arnold to return to the court without further setbacks," said Gintarė Katkutė-Lackė, the team's physiotherapist.

In his last season before the injury, Kulboka averaged 13 points and 5.6 rebounds for Promitheas Patras in the Greek championship, and 14.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in the BKT EuroCup.
