Revenge Win for Wolves Twinsbet in Šiauliai

Vilnius Wolves Twinsbet (16–12) battled to an important win in the Betsafe-LKL, defeating Šiauliai-Casino Admiral (11–17) on the road, 92–85 (21:21, 28:29, 22:20, 21:15), and avenging their third-round loss.

The Wolves remain third in the standings, while Žydrūnas Urbonas' team sits seventh. However, Klaipėda Neptūnas (10–17) and Nevėžis-Optibet (10–18) are closing in.

Šiauliai, led by early buckets from Lukas Uleckas and Saulius Kulvietis, jumped ahead 15–9. The lead kept growing (21–12) until Alessandro Magro called a timeout. That turned the momentum — Tre’Shawn Thurman and Arnoldas Kulboka hit back-to-back threes (18–21), and Thurman tied it with another from deep to close the quarter at 21–21.

The second quarter stayed tight until Kristupas Žemaitis and Marek Blaževič sparked a Wolves run to a 43–37 lead. But the hosts quickly responded, evening the score at 45–45. At halftime, Urbonas’ side held a narrow edge, 50–49.

Šiauliai opened the third quarter with a strong run (56–49), but Wolves’ foreign players responded quickly (57–59). Kulboka tied the game at 60–60 and then knocked down another three-pointer. However, Tauras Jogėla’s late bucket gave Šiauliai a slight edge going into the final quarter – 71–70.

The Wolves came out firing in the fourth, going on a 9–0 run to lead 79–70, but Šiauliai didn’t let them pull away completely (83–76). While the score remained tight, the visitors maintained their cushion and never let the hosts get closer than six points, 89–83. With 90 seconds to go, Shaquille Buchanan hit a jumper (85–89), but Kulvietis quickly committed a foul and then turned the ball over. Wolves took advantage, extended the lead to 92–85, and held on for the win.

Šiauliai’s new signing Grant Singleton missed a three, made a pass, and finished without any efficiency rating in just over two minutes on the court.

The Wolves were without Matas Jogėla and Vaidas Kariniauskas.
