Setback in Klaipėda: Wolves Twinsbet defeated by Neptūnas

Vilnius Wolves Twinsbet (2-2), temporarily managed by Mindaugas Brazys in place of Alessandro Magro, suffered their second defeat of the season. The capital city team was defeated by Neptūnas Klaipėda (4-0), the only undefeated team in the league, which became the sole leader of the Betsafe-LKL standings.

Coach Georgios Vovoras' team won 89:74 (25:23, 18:19, 29:15, 17:17).

The visitors had a slight advantage at the beginning of the match (15:10). However, at the end of the quarter, the Klaipėda team, playing a bit better, took the lead - 25:23. In the second quarter, the scenario repeated itself - the Wolves Twinsbet pulled ahead (38:33), but before the break, the players from the port city regained a minimal lead (43:42).

The turning point of the game came in the third quarter. Neptūnas margin slowly started to grow until Desure Buie's two-pointer made the gap double-digit for the first time in the match (64:53). Finally, Arnas Berucka's three-pointer with a few seconds left further increased his team's margin to 72:57.

Wolves Twinsbet tried to cling on in the last ten minutes, but the hosts kept their opponents within single digits and finished the game with another confident win in their pocket.

The Vilnius team was not helped by solid performances from its import players: Anthony Cowan with 19 points, Garrison Brooks with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Jeffery Taylor with 16 points.

Daniel Baslyk and Justinas Marcinkevicius could not help the Vilnius team, while Klaipėda was without Tomas Pavelka.
