The BC Wolves, who are currently in third place in the Betsafe-LKL standings, have announced great news for the residents of Prienai as the club will be playing one game in the city. Basketball fans from all over the area are invited to start purchasing tickets for the match to be held at the Prienai Arena on April 20 as the Wolves face off against BC Pieno žvaigždės of Pasvalys.

The Vilnius-based Wolves originally planned to play this game in Alytus as a gesture of appreciation for the city's residents and basketball fans who supported the team during its debut season. However, due to problems with the game floor which no longer meets the standards to host Lithuanian basketball matches, the Dzūkija capital's sports and recreation center cannot be used as a venue for the basketball event.

"It's a pity that we can't see our fans again in Alytus. However, we hope to meet them in Prienai, which is only nearby. At the same time, we do not doubt that the people of Prienai also miss the highest level of basketball, so we are kindly inviting them to watch in the Prienai Arena to support our team. One of our coaches - Marius Leonavičius - was born, raised, and worked in Prienai for a long time," said Wolves club director Andrius Žiauberis.

Coach Marius Leonavičius will not be the only familiar face in this game. Almost all native Lithuanian basketball players currently playing for the Wolves previously have worn the jerseys of this city's team: captain Regimantas Miniotas, Eigirdas Žukauskas, Vitalijus Kozys, Kristupas Žemaitis and Arnas Beručka.

Tip-off against BC Pieno žvaigždės will be at 17:00.
