The fourth Vilnius derby of the Betsafe-LKL season will take place on May 4 at the brand-new “Wolves Twinsbet” Sports Center, located in the expanding business district near the Vilnius airport, at the “Aerottoria” Arena.

The Lithuanian Basketball League has approved the arena, which can host up to 1,350 spectators, as the Wolves' secondary venue, meaning it is eligible to host official LKL championship and Citadele King Mindaugas Cup games.

According to club CEO Andrius Žiauberis, the decision to move the game to “Aerottoria” was made due to the unconfirmed availability of “Twinsbet” Arena on the first weekend of May. At the same time, this game will serve as an introduction of the new Wolves Twinsbet Sports Center to the public.

“The question of where to host the final regular-season game against Rytas had remained open for some time, as Twinsbet Arena is still in negotiations about hosting a private event that weekend. Now that the new sports center has received all the permits and licenses to operate, we decided not to wait any longer,” Žiauberis said. “By choosing the Vilnius derby for this symbolic opening, we aim to introduce our team’s new home to the country’s basketball community. Derbies always draw more public interest both in the city and nationally, and the broadcasts receive high ratings, so it will be a great marketing move for both the center and Aerottoria Arena.”

The new sports complex will be open to the local community and business organizations. It is well-suited not only for top-tier league events but also for lower-division championship games, various tournaments, and basketball camps.

The main arena can be quickly transformed into two smaller courts, which will allow amateur players and local league participants to practice and compete as well.

In addition to the basketball arena, the center features a state-of-the-art gym equipped with innovative machines that help maintain and improve physical condition, as well as aid in recovery from intense workouts or injuries.
