Wolves Mic'd Up: Coach Magro in the thriller against Nevėžis-Optibet

On Sunday, the spectators gathered at the Twinsbet arena were treated to a real basketball spectacle, where the Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius, after a final-second thriller, defeated Nevėžis-Optibet Kėdainiai by a narrow score of 103-102, extending their winning streak in the national championship.

During this game, the microphone was worn by Wolves' head coach Alessandro Magro.

“We grabbed the rebound and Ebo fouled. You should call, cause it is the first foul on their best player. Why don’t you call a foul? If you don’t call it, he stays on the court. If he has a two fouls problem, he’s out. It's not the same. The foul has to be called,” the coach discussed with referee Gintaras Mačiulis after what he believed was an incorrect decision in the first half of the game.

Despite the Vilnius team building a double-digit lead before the halftime break, the visitors from Kėdainiai seized the initiative in the third quarter, with Joseph Girard hitting a three-pointer during a fast break, taking the lead.

“They are just scoring because we're turning the damn ball,” the coach scolded his players during a timeout. However, his team made two more consecutive mistakes after that.

After the visitors hit another long-range shot, extending their lead to 11 points, A. Magro had to call for another timeout.

“We’re giving them the confidence to do everything. The guys that are scoring are Ebo and Girard. Can we fire up and look for some sparks inside?” the Italian strategist asked his players during the break.
