The Vilnius Wolves Twinsbet organization, now in its third year of operation, has been recognized by the Vilnius City Municipality – the club has been included in the 2025 list of Vilnius' representative sports clubs.
A total of 21 sports clubs from the capital made the list after submitting applications for high-performance sports project funding. Wolves Twinsbet was evaluated as meeting the required funding criteria.
"This is yet another achievement for our young club and proof that we are moving in the right direction. We are pleased that the city acknowledges our activities, both on the basketball court and within the community, and sees the benefits. This decision will provide us with greater opportunities to improve our results, attract more business attention, and grow potential investors. We will continue to promote Vilnius both nationally and in European competitions," said club director Andrius Žiauberis, commenting on the municipality’s decision.
Competing in three national and European tournaments, the team plays its home games at Twinsbet Arena, the largest venue in Vilnius.
Since Wolves Twinsbet has been competing for the second season in the BKT EuroCup, Europe’s second-tier club basketball tournament, Vilnius' name has been featured in media across 16 European countries. The club significantly contributes to the visibility and promotion of Lithuania’s capital, as well as strengthening the image of Lithuania as a basketball nation.
The names of the club and the city have been mentioned over 30,000 times in international media.
One of the club’s and, consequently, Vilnius’ ambassadors, alongside other notable individuals contributing to Lithuania’s economy and sports, is NBA player and long-time Lithuanian national team captain Jonas Valančiūnas.
The club is highly active in digital marketing, generating and distributing content across various social media platforms. More than half a million followers from Lithuania and around the world engage with Wolves Twinsbet’s content despite the club being in only its third year of existence.
Good results on and off the court have also earned international recognition. In a mid-season survey, Wolves Twinsbet’s social media was voted the best in the BKT EuroCup, receiving 40% of the votes from club executives.
The representation of the city is also closely linked to social responsibility, positively contributing to Vilnius' image. Wolves Twinsbet consistently engages in various initiatives and activities aimed at fostering community development, inclusion of vulnerable social groups, and improving engagement.
The club regularly invites students, socially disadvantaged residents, and representatives of essential service organizations to its home games. Special attention is given to families, with tailored entertainment and a family-friendly atmosphere at club-organized events.
The club’s representatives also visit educational institutions, where they promote a healthy lifestyle, encourage sports participation, motivate youth to pursue their goals and inspire them to be responsible members of society.
Wolves Twinsbet is the only team in Lithuania’s top basketball league (Betsafe-LKL) that operates entirely on private funding. The club’s €5 million annual budget comes exclusively from private investors, sponsors, ticket sales, merchandise, and advertising revenue.
This funding model reflects the club’s strategic and rational approach, focusing on investments in high-level players, infrastructure, staff, brand awareness, and social responsibility.
This spring, a brand-new training center, built entirely with private investment, will open its doors, further enhancing Vilnius' sports infrastructure. The facility will also be accessible to the local community, basketball enthusiasts, companies, and sports academies. Additionally, the venue will host international youth sports camps and basketball tournaments.
These efforts ensure not only the organization’s financial stability and professionalism but also allow for investments in brand awareness, which is closely tied to the club’s home – Vilnius.
