BC Wolves get a road win after two-week FIBA break

The BC Wolves (14-6) resumed their strong campaign in the Lithuanian Basketball League (Betsafe-LKL) by adding another notch to their win column when they defeated M Basket-Delamode of Mažeikiai (7-11) in an away game - 84:73 (21:25, 23:13, 20:19, 20:16).

The men from Mažeikiai had a strong start to the match and took the lead early - 22:14. However, the Wolves duo of Jeffery Taylor and Garrison Brooks worked hard to chip away at the deficit, and after Arnas Berucka's three-pointer, only a single point separated both teams - 21:22.

Slowly but surely, the Vilnius-based club tried to snatch the lead and was able to do so in the second quarter (28:25), but Martynas Gecevičius and Daniel Dolenc spoiled the guests' plans by wrestling back the advantage, 37:39.

After the halftime break, the Wolves regained their old form and were able to establish control, although the lead remained rather slim at 50-45. Chauncey Collins added clutch baskets to bring his team closer (48:50) but M Basket-Delamode was not able to capitalize afterwards. The Wolves then built a more significant advantage (64:57), and a little later they reinforced the lead further to double digits (74:64) and did not let the road victory slip away.

BC Wolves: Jeffery Taylor 18, Rasheed Sulaimon 14, Regimantas Miniotas 13 (10 rebounds), Arnas Beručka 12, Tre'Shawn Thurman and Christian Mekowulu (8 rebounds) - 7 each, Kristupas Žemaitis 5, Garrison Brooks and Eigirdas Žukauskas 3 each, Vitalijus Kozys 2.

M Basket-Delamode: Chauncey Collins 17, Alex Antetokounmpo and Kay Bruhnke 12 each.
