Wolves star guard Rasheed Sulaimon out for four weeks

The BC Wolves have been bitten by the injury bug and fans will have to wait for about four (4) weeks for the return of the team's leader Rasheed Sulaimon due to a lower leg injury. He got hurt during the match against BC Žalgiris of Kaunas and this made him miss the rest of the game.

During the third quarter of the Žalgiris game, the American import slipped on the floor during a hard drive towards the basket. He had to be assisted by his teammates off the court after he fell.

A recent medical diagnosis revealed that R. Sulaimon had severely damaged the ligaments of his left ankle.

"Treatment of this injury is somewhat complicated by the fact that he suffered an ankle ligament sprain for the first time in his career. Currently, the most important thing to do is to control the swelling of the leg, which in the initial onset is much greater than subsequent sprains. As soon as the swelling subsides, we will start rehabilitation and try to get Rasheed back on the field as soon as possible," said Wolves team physiotherapist Gintarė Katkutė-Lackė.

The star guard has been averaging 18.3 points, 2.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 18.9 utility points in seven (7) games played in the Betsafe-LKL Championship.

He logged per-game numbers of 20.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3 rebounds and 18.6 RRP in the five (5) BKT EuroCup matches he played.
