After three seasons of competition, the Vilnius Wolves Twinsbet basketball club will apply to the Lithuanian Basketball League to suspend its license for two years.
This decision was not easy. But the time has come to pause, reflect on the road we've traveled, and sincerely thank everyone who was part of this unforgettable journey.
From the very beginning, we set out to build a strong and professional club that would bring fresh energy to Lithuanian basketball. We wanted to be different — bold, modern, dynamic. The club had an ambitious vision and brought to life many unconventional ideas and solutions.
Over these years, we strived to grow as an organization. We represented Lithuania and its capital Vilnius on both national and international stages, built a modern sports facility, and brought together a team of talented people — both on the court and behind the scenes.
But sport is not only about ideas and effort — it's also about results. And while we were unable to fully realize our potential, that’s part of the game. Sometimes, it simply takes a bit more luck to tip the scales.
Still, the shifting landscape of European basketball and new economic challenges prompted us to make this tough decision — to temporarily pause our activity and reassess the next steps forward.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who believed in this project: our players, coaches, staff, management, investors, partners, and the media.
We also thank our club ambassadors, who helped share and shape our vision. Together, we brought more modernity, courage, and change into Lithuanian basketball.
And above all — thank you to our fans. We saw the growing sea of turquoise in the stands, the kids waiting for autographs before and after games, the posters, the cheers. We were never alone.
Your support meant everything. You were the heart and the driving force behind this club.
We firmly believe that together, we brought something new, bold, and meaningful to Lithuanian basketball. Thank you for being part of this special journey.
Basketball isn’t going anywhere — it remains in our hearts.
